About 18.9 percent of the 5,024 degrees and certificates handed out by the Utah Valley University in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Orem conferred 923 associate's degrees and 28 bachelor's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in General Studies. Data shows the school gave out 923 associate's degrees in General Studies, followed by 284 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General and 256 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The university enrolled 34,978 students for 2016-17, including 34,706 in undergraduate programs and 272 in graduate programs.
