Chamber West Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 15.
The 2019 Annual Awards Gala for ChamberWest was recently held at the Maverick Center this past week. ChamberWest supports the business communities in West Valley City, the City of Taylorsville, West Jordan City, and the Kearns Metro Township. Island Traditions, Ko Ngati Hiona, Jung Hing Dance Club, and Latin Dance Heritage all gave exceptional performances during the event.
“The ChamberWest Annual Awards Gala is really an evening to honor and pay tribute to those businesses who engage in our chamber of commerce and really make a different in our business and civic communities,” said Barbara Riddle, President of ChamberWest.
The Annual Award Gala Committee Members this year consisted of Steve Raguskus of GRIFOLS Biomat USA in Taylorsville, Emilee Bertot of GES, Brent Severe of Granite Education Foundation, Mike Rosales of Ken Garff West Valley Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge, Brooke Porter of Granite Education Foundation, Maria Powell of American Pacific Mortgage, Laurie Snarr of Inovashare Benefits LLC, and Oz Hutton of Melange LLC.
We had several sponsors this year. The Presenting Sponsors for the event were America First Credit Union and the Maverik Center. The Entertainment Sponsors were Comcast, West Valley City, and The Imagination Company. The Program Sponsors were Jordan Valley Medical Center, Intermountain Medical Center, Concentrix, and Zions Bank.
The finalists and winners of the awards are as follows:
The Small Business of the Year Award went to Employers Council.
The Best New Business of the Year Award went to SummitVista.
The Best Place to Work Award Award went to Wasatch I.T.
The Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Kim Gilbert of Cyprus Credit Union.
The Business of the Year Nominee Award was given to Exodus Healthcare.
The Hall of Fame Award went to Kenworth Sales Company.
At the Gala, Jon Butterfield, President of Jordan Valley Medical Center was recognized for his service through 2018 as Chair of the ChamberWest Board of Directors and he turned the leadership gavel over to Jordan Larson of Varex Imaging.
Butterfield said of his time as Chair, “I have enjoyed my time as Chair on the Board of Directors for ChamberWest. This organization is an asset to the community and a strength to business owners. Barbara Riddle possesses a great energy and excitement for the businesses and cities ChamberWest serves.”
Larson expressed his excitement and thanks to Jon Butterfield for his previous service, “As the new incoming Chair of the Board of Directors, I am excited to take the reigns of this exciting and growing chamber of commerce. We are grateful to Jon Butterfield for his past direction and leadership, and we look forward to what we can achieve in the future for the good of our business communities.”
