Chamber West Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
As we roll into February, there is much in process as volunteer chamber members and staff work diligently to deliver on the mission of strengthening and promoting the shared interests of the business community. On February 20th, we’ll celebrate business success at the Annual Awards Gala. With the 45 day Legislative Session in process, our Legislative Affairs Committee is currently meeting twice per week on behalf of our members. Leadership Institute Trustees passed the halfway mark as they plan the sixth out of ten sessions this month. The Women in Business Committee has a full year of a professional growth series planned along with the Spring Conference on April 14th and a Women’s Golf Clinic on May 12th. The Education and Workforce Development Committee is in full swing with planning a Job Fair on April 22nd in collaboration with our school districts and other key partners. The Ambassadors continue to cut ribbons in welcoming new businesses and oversee the Business Connections and Bowling program. The Golf Committee will start meeting soon as work begins on the Annual Golf Classic scheduled for June 24th. Thank you to all!
One of the biggest events of the year is the Annual Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, February 20th from 5:00 - 8:30 pm at the Maverik Center. Join us and an expected 400+ attendees as we recognize Ron Bigelow, Mayor of West Valley City, Utah State Representative for 16 years, and strong business advocate with the 2020 Hall of Fame Award. In addition, we’ll be highlighting three finalists in four award categories which include Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Best Place to Work, and Volunteer of the Year with award winners announced that evening. We will again offer a cash bar featuring local craft distilleries and non-alcoholic specialty drinks for your enjoyment. Even with such a strong theme, in the spirit of having fun, the dress for the evening will be ‘business casual – patriotic’. Event sponsorships, table sponsorships and individual tickets are available with an expected sell-out crowd again this year.
Upcoming program and event highlights include:
Legislative Affairs Committee Meetings, February 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th, 25th, 27th;
